the stress was worth it, my copies of hemlock #4 have arrived and they worked out fine! i’ll be selling them at MCM expo for £7 each. there are a few things i want to adjust before i put them up on lulu, but i’ll make a post when it’s up.

(tiny tristan is not for sale, it was a gift from my sister ponymonster, who will be sharing my MCM table with me as usual~)

Kerascoët– Beautiful Darkness

Finally a North American release ( with English translation! ) due out later this year.  Drawn and Quaterly

I love this book. Masterfully written and drawn by this wonderful duo of illustrators/cartoonists Marie Pommepuy and Sébastien Cosset. I asked Sébastien when we met them at a gallery show at Arludik who, what where in the world did this story come from. He waves both hands in disclaim and says, “Marie.” Amazing.

Oh my…YES!

Great book, and one of the darkest darkest fairy tales I read in recent years. Oh yes, very very dark!

“Kairos” by Ulisse Malassagne is awesome-looking! The kind of nice mix between comics, animation and a blend of japanese and european comics.

I love these notes. Old school disney animation guides had the same rules for storyboarding and it’s all very very true.

“VIRGO RISING,” the first book for Little Foolery’s “THAT WHICH WILLS” world, is up for pre-order until March 31!

For as long as has lived, Liam Harbinger has been known only as the son of Esmeralda la Deluge, one of the most infamous witches to plague Virgilia. Born under favorable stars, gifted with remarkable powers, and possesses a demon as his only companion, Liam has no interest in his mother’s dark history — his dream is to be a hero, the greatest Virgilia has ever seen.

“Virgo Rising” is the first introductory issue to the world of “That Which Wills.” Contains three stories:

  1. Dance with the Devil - Liam has found himself the unexpected guest to a royal ball. Determined to prove himself against a host of nobles who remember his mother’s dark past — Liam plans to be on his best behavior. However, his demon companion, Ronway, has other ideas.

  1. “Meet Cute” - While out after a night of sport, perfectly ordinary citizen Tibsy Greencastle finds himself in a tight spot. Lucky for him, help comes from the most unexpected of places.
Colored by Jen Doyle. (preview pages above)
  1. “Harbinger” - Following an ill-advised magical escapade in a small country village, 13 -year-old Liam Harbinger is brought to the capital for the first time.

Whew it is finally coming together. Muun and I are very excited for this, a lot of work went into this. Special thanks to Airy, Jen Doyle and Mira Ongchua for making this work possible!

We’ll be sending the book out to the printers next week with any luck!

This is what I’ve been coloring the past week. Please support Chira and Muun - this is a delightful collection, and it’s been a pleasure working with them. <3
