Here’s an awesome little piece of history:
Archaeologists in the Burnt City have discovered what appears to be an ancient prosthetic eye. What makes this discovery exceptionally awesome is the striking description of how the owner and her false eye would have appeared while she was still alive and blinking:
[The eye] has a hemispherical form and a diameter of just over 2.5 cm (1 inch). It consists of very light material, probably bitumen paste. The surface of the artificial eye is covered with a thin layer of gold, engraved with a central circle (representing the iris) and gold lines patterned like sun rays. The female remains found with the artificial eye was 1.82 m tall (6 feet), much taller than ordinary women of her time. On both sides of the eye are drilled tiny holes, through which a golden thread could hold the eyeball in place. Since microscopic research has shown that the eye socket showed clear imprints of the golden thread, the eyeball must have been worn during her lifetime. The woman’s skeleton has been dated to between 2900 and 2800 BCE.
So she was an extraordinarily tall woman walking around wearing an engraved golden eye patterned with rays like a tiny sun. What an awesome sight that must have been.

deleted the commentary because some “body builders” were visibly mad
Just an FYI for you RPers & art people.
There is nothing wrong with either body type or preferring one to the other, but if you’re going for a legitimately physically strong character, the “form” body type typically isn’t the actual look that will give it.

Ok I like totally agree with you but I just want to like point out something first off because this has always bothered me about the way people complain about character designs and stories and stuff.
Like although this is a very reasonable request and should be noted and stuff it’s really hard to ask an artist and a design team like to basically………design things differently? Like say you look at a certain person’s style and you’re like wow you draw a whole range of diverse characters but for some reason….you just can’t draw a pretty one? And they’re like..hey….wait this is pretty to me? I can’t draw any prettier than that. I can try but I don’t know if it’ll actually end up pretty. Like people can be like.. hey I don’t make enough good PoC or varying range of designs…but if I do… will it be good? Will it make sense? Will it offend people? Having a minority or queer token or whatever just isn’t good enough and it’s really scary trying to make one when you aren’t……..falling into that certain type of person? Like it takes a really really special and talented character artist/ character writer to be able to write about people from all walks of life. And in a way it’s like super hard to like..ask people to just..simply do it without them accidentally making it offensive EVEN if they research a lot.
So anyway I just want to remind people out there that as much as they complain about there not being good enough representation in vidya games and shit they should remember that behind the game there’s probably a team of artists and designers and writers out there who are like wtf should I do with these charas and are also thinking that they’re doing a really interesting and good job and working hard to make a game THEY personally think is cool.
There should def be more games with like different subject matter though and instead of less white dudes making games probably more like other people making games. Society is always gonna kinda suck man but hey so many young artists with that mindset are breaking into the industry soon remain hopeful!
Icarus before/after. I’m not too fond of these drawings but my roommates think he’s an adorable precious baby angel so here you go I guess??? I’m going to have to practice drawing him a lot more before I can really get down to business todefeat the Hunsanimate him for my film!
